Michael Viner

Michael began his career with the Dunlap Agency in 2000 after running a successful construction business for many years. Michael built a successful book of business during his tenure at Dunlap and its successors HRH and Willis before helping to start Cross Surety in 2013. Michael is comfortable and has experience dealing with diverse surety needs for clients from the small “Mom and Pop” shops to large multinational corporations both in the United States and abroad.

In addition to studying Engineering and Finance at Alfred University and Berkshire Community College, Michael is a certified Surety Bond Producer by having completed all three levels of the William J. Angell Surety School sponsored by the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP). Michael was also awarded the prestigious “Tiger Trust Award” in 2007 by the NASBP for excellence in the promotion of surety bonds. He also received the Rainmaker award for excellence in 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Michael remains a licensed Construction Supervisor and is a member of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers, the American Association of Energy Engineers, the Advisory Council of Western Massachusetts Chamber of Associated Builders and Contractors, and the Surety Association of Massachusetts. He previously served in the Hinsdale Planning board from 1998-2000.
